Mr. Saifullah Khan is a fulltime associate at Shawn Novel & Associates. Prior to joining the corporate legal practice at the firm, he gained exposure and experience in the field of civil and criminal litigation. At Shawn Novel & Associates, he specializes in the areas of business licensing and real estate law. Mr. Khan provides legal counsel in numerous matters relating to trademark issues, labor law compliance, the establishment of joint venture companies, family law, welfare, immigration etc. He has represented several clients, from entrepreneurs, small domestic corporations to large multinational enterprises, to establish their footprint in the investment markets of Bangladesh. Mr. Khan has completed Bachelor of Laws from the University of London.

Nadim Mohammad Adnan

Mr. Nadim Mohammod Adnan is an LL.B. graduate from University of London and a competent Associate at Shawn Novel and Associates. He has experience in legal consultancy with regards to corporate law and business incorporation. His proficiency lies mostly in the aspect of company law issues, contract drafting and review, real-estate matters, research and analysis and so forth. He has been involved with matters related to various aspect of business incorporations and commercial investments. He handles finance and banking matters by acknowledging the client’s specific needs regarding the legal interpretation of the applicable rules and provides legal solutions under enforceable banking laws of Bangladesh. He has worked on various projects of cross-border transactions and setting up joint venture companies in Bangladesh. His primary interest lies in the field of corporate law and litigation.

Mr. Rafid Un Nabi is a Barrister at Law of England and Wales, having been called as such at The Honourable Society of the Lincoln’s Inn. Having completed the LL.B (Hons) from the University of London, he then went on to undertake his LL.M in International Commercial Law at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, UK. His dissertation is focused on Shipping Law, exploring the Carrier’s liabilities at sea. He is also an Accredited Civil/Commercial Mediator with the ADR ODR International, UK.

Mr. Nabi started his legal profession with Shawn Novel Associates (SNA) back in 2014 when he undertook his mini-pupillage here under the guidance of the Head of Firm, Barrister Shawn Novel. He then continued his journey with SNA as an Associate again in 2015, having just graduated from law school. While he has been on sabbatical in UK on two occasions, he now plays an integral role at SNA.

Mr. Nabi specialises in Corporate and Commercial Practice with keen interest in Civil Litigation. He boasts substantial experience relating to Land related matters having undertaken large scale due diligence projects with several Multi-national companies and Audit firms. His expertise in this area has led him to work on contractual basis with other law firms and has been the Legal Advisor to Afser Group Bangladesh since 2016. He provides advices on company law issues, contract drafting and review, real-estate matters, research and analysis at SNA on a regular basis. He has also been involved with matters related to various aspect of business incorporations and commercial investments.

Mr. Nabi also has substantial teaching experience under his belt as a Guest Lecturer at the London College of Legal Studies (South). In his free time, he likes to enjoy the company of his friends and sports.

Ayesha Siddiky

Ms. Ayesha Siddiky is a Barrister and has completed her Bar at Law course from BPP University Law School, UK. She is an LL.B graduate under University of London, UK and had pursued her Masters in International Banking and Finance Law from University of West England, Bristol, UK. Her LL.M major core concentrated on various modules of commercial litigation and banking sectors.

She started her legal career with Tanjib Alam and Associates gaining experience in various matters of civil litigation and later joined Shawn Novel and Associates. Due to her keen interest to explore and gather experience in the field of corporate law, she specialises mostly in the legal aspects of real estate matters, commercial issues, contract drafting and review, legal research, analysis and henceforth. She has gathered further knowledge in the field of finance and banking matters and is able to acknowledge the legal issues by interpreting the individual matters, applying the enforceable banking laws and principles of Bangladesh. She has also been involved in matters related to various aspects of civil and commercial disputes, business incorporations, joint ventures and so on. Apart from this, she works as a part time lecturer in Cambridge Business and Law Academy and has substantial experience in the field of teaching as well.

Anupoma Joyeeta Joyee

Ms Anupoma Joyeeta Joyee has joined the SNA team with her diverse set of talents. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2019. She is also an ADR-ODR accredited Civil/ Commercial Mediator. Since her undergraduate studies, she has emerged as an impactful writer with a specialization in laws, policies and sustainable development attempting to contribute to the socio-economic and political discourse. She has been a writer and contributor in Bangladesh’s highest circulating English national daily The Daily Star since 2015 in both its youth and the legal supplements. Alongside publishing approximately 50 newspaper articles on a vast array of topics, she has a keen interest in the academia on climate crisis and transnational climate litigation. She has worked for two care companies offering semi-independent accommodation to at-risk and vulnerable youth in a quasi- legal position in collaboration with the Local Authority and the UK Social Services in order to aid the companies’ registration, compliance audit and policy documentation. Since joining the profession, she has seamlessly continued to prepare legal opinions on multifarious issues including company matters, family law and property vetting. She is experienced in drafting tenancy contracts, injunction petitions, divorce maintenance and custody suits, petitions and applications on company matters and joint venture agreements between local and foreign companies.
